In for a penny...


Here's an interesting chart. It represents the break-down of discretionary spending for the US Government in 2015. As you can see, if Americans are wondering where their tax dollars go it's mostly on the Military. 

By way of comparison the UK military budget in 2016 was $42 Billion, which is less than a 10th as much for a population that's 20% as big. Talk about Military-Industrial complex! This isn't the only thing that American tax dollars are spent on. This chart shows only the discretionary spend (i.e. the debatable chunk), the compulsory spend is twice as big. I can't help thinking that a few more dollars spent in the yellow, dark green and dark purple segments might render the dark blue segment slightly less necessary?
